MAGIC-PISTONS RIVALRY GETS HEATED IN THE PRESS BOX

Photobucket

Apparently, the Detroit and Orlando media aren't playing nice together. Chris McCosky of the Detroit News confronted a radio host who he felt insulted him after McCosky was on his radio show.

Here is McCosky's take:

I blogged on Friday about how this Orlando radio guy had invited me on his show and badgered me with questions about how the Magic had control of the series and that the Pistons obviously feared the Magic after Game 3. I tried to be polite, it was his show. But I shot down his premise pretty vehemently. Well, after I was off the air, this clown ripped on me for a good 15 minutes, I was told. I guess he went on and on about how I talked down to him and how all the Detroit people have this arrogant attitude, or some such garbage.

So, I see him skulking around the press room before the game and I confront him.

And while McCosky plays down the confrontation, others didn't see it that way...

Many of us in the press room before the game could see this coming.

That's when a hulking Pistons beat writer for the Detroit News nearly beat up undersized Orlando sports radio host Jerry O'Neill before the game. Even the Magic media came up small.

We've come full circle in this series. Dice and Howard tangling up last game, Rip and Dooling earlier in the series, Lewis trying to take out Theo Ratliff in Game 1....and now, the writers are trading punches.

I fully expect the Dance Teams to meet up before tip-off tomorrow and wrestle around in KY Jelly or something. Hell, that would draw ratings

Wait, I lost my train of thought, what was I talking about again?

I can totally see McCosky being arrogant on the radio in Orlando. I always thought he was a dick when he was on the Detroit radio shows. This doesn't surprise me.

I would have loved to see McCosky get his ass beat
